This article is referring to Medicare Advantage which, despite the name, has nothing to do with actual Medicare. It's private insurance they trick older people into buying. Yes, the name is purposely confusing and should probably be illegal.
to be fair, I have to buy "add-ons" to my medicare which are hosted through private insurance, such as prescriptions and certain kinds of specialist care. so it gets a little confusing you see. 😅
This doesn't feel like news. I pretty much just assumed this is the status quo of this country's medical insurance companies for decades. Their job isn't to get you medical care, it's to make as much money as they can, your medical care is just the means to get it
Let's hope. It should have been thrown out about 5 times already though, so more likely than not, the poor kid's going to be railroaded to "set an example".
