When Jeep owners complained ads were appearing while driving, the carmaker said it was a glitch. But as auto makers consider connected car opportunities, in-vehicle selling might be too tempting to ignore.

If I get distracted from the commercial while driving, can I sue Jeep and the parent company of the commercial's product for damages? would they be at risk of being charged criminally for causing the accident?
We need one car company to ditch the big screens and use physical buttons as a feature. Brag about it. They would clean up and influence the rest of the industry. I am dreading the next time I have to shop for a car.
It’s become the American Way: we are all viewed as stooges from which money can be extracted in every way possible. We don’t have rights, just dwindling pocketbooks and vanishing privacy.
Talk about lawsuits from distracted drivers. Hopefully, it doesn’t link to your phone and build an algorithm off your phone surfing. Talk about all the uncomfortable car rides when ads for gambling, porn and dating websites comes up. Lord take the wheel 😂😂😂
They make more money selling your data. And they don't give you a share. And to get out of being tracked all the time. You will have to pay twice as much for it.I love technology.
But they are fuckin abusing it.
I will never buy a car that displays ads without opting-in just as I wouldn’t buy a house that displays ads. Ads should not appear in my devices and property unless I specifically put them there. Period. And ads should not be used as a paywall to ANY vehicle functions. Even heated seats.
Burn them to the ground. We as a people have to stop accepting this enshitification of our lives peacefully. We have 12 guns to every one person in this country. Advertisers should be terrified of constantly encroaching on every aspect of our lives.
This is horribly deceptive as people trust that messages from their car are important and need to be followed up on. This type of practice not only causes distractions but also may train the driver to start ignoring messages from their car, which could lead to more in unsafe driving conditions.
I expect that within the next couple of years, when I pick up a seashell on the beach to listen to the ocean, I will instead hear an ad for boner pills or an online gambling app.
I’m getting so tired of corporate greed. Their new vehicles are already 60k for a fucking grand Cherokee. Now they want more money from ads?! What a bunch of fucking assholes this country is now.
Ask your doctor about branded life support, because your life is too precious to trust to generic life support....this statement has not been evaluated by the FDA and side effects include bankruptcy, credit harassment, and loss of life.
I wonder what the ads were for. Judging by the kind of people I see driving new jeeps i'd assume they were for box wine, Ryobi power tools, and better help.
"Hey there sport! Looks like you just ran over another pedestrian! While you wait for the police, here are some lawyers that specialize in negligent driving cases!"
Scene 1:While driving on Rt1 next to the cliffs, Orange Jesus gets a dildo ad on his Jeep’s info screen. His butthole starts twitching with excitement. He loses control of his Jeep and becomes airborne off the cliff. In his last breath, he pulls his pants down and sits on the shifter. #ButtFuckPOTUS

Make sure you know how disable data sharing if you buy a new car. Because now, even in automobiles, you are the "product" (i.e., sucker).

When will the tech bros stop unironically ripping off science fiction dystopias?

In-vehicle ads for repair shops and brands of reliable vehicles would be most- watched.
But they are fuckin abusing it.
You'll get ads in your dreams, when eating lunch and even during your romantic activities.
I would not buy any automobile that had ads
Auto makers: here is a big ass tablet to poke around and get distracted by.
