Enjoying this discussion too. Not sure where I stand - the KS3 maths questions were often great (for reasoning not basic fluency) but there was such a huge amount of time wasted from trying to hit accountability targets.

If they bring back key stage three exams for SATs I’m honestly done. It means we definitely do have a thirtyish year cycle of repeating stupid things then scrapping them.
