Insect protein isn’t automatically better. About the same conversion efficiency as a chicken. Only advantage for insects is they can eat waste material.

We need to keep hacking away at the largest known contributors. Obviously, this is all part of a complex system and discussions about grazing or what have you can be had, but much of that is cutting at the edges.

Very interesting. I had a bit of recent experience with regenerative grazing on land held by a non-profit land trust I worked for. In that case active management was a big missing piece and expecting ranchers to play by the rules was not working. I imagine that would be a common problem.

Based on Allan Savory’s theories (via Voisin a French agronomist). He’s not a scientist but was a professional hunter, farmer and politician in Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia) from about mid 1950s. Regenerative grazing can be effective in areas that have native ungulates, but not in places like Australia

I think it's more important for biodiversity, resiliency to drought and heavy precipitation events, animal health, and preventing top soil loss. It also can be integrated into other types of food production (silvopasture).

There are multiple reasons to give emphasis to regen farming practices and producers who adapt in this direction could be given all assist and acknowledgement.
Also with adoption of agtech: the recent 🇦🇺 $18m grant assist was gone in 4 days.
