Do not travel to the U.S. unless you're being paid to do so. Even then, be prepared to be detained for a period of time and then sent back to your home country without any justification given.

In short, the Customs and Immigration folks are only slightly more hospitable than the North Koreans.

I'm so freaked out to travel myself just because I ALWAYS get harassed by security/cops/TSA (literally, every time. I was once searched at every airport with 3 layovers, my car torn apart reentering the US)I can't imagine the fear for Trans folk

it's official US embassy and state department guidance that people cannot apply for visas using documents that do not represent their ASAB. this came out last month. doesn't matter what you have now; if you ever at any point changed your docs, it's now considered "misrepresentation"
