Bats are included among non-kosher birds rather than among non-kosher animals because the Torah categorizes animals into “land animals,” “sea creatures,” “creeping things” and “flying things,” etc. rather than as reptiles, mammals, amphibians, etc.

Bats are considered non-kosher and listed among the birds, yes. The torah isn't concerned with phylogeny, and was written so that the people it was given to could understand it early: so flying things without extra legs are all counted as birds, and things that swim all the time are fish.

No bats aren't, most 'exotic' animals aren't kosher. For meat, it's like chickens, duck, beef, lamb goat and animals that are related like those which are kosher. The real exceptions are giraffes which are kosher because they nurse their young and chew cud

went to the final tour date in toronto, outdoor show. almost if not sold out. had literal chills when the entire crowd sang war pigs en masse. been to a million metal shows in my time and the fans are usually quite mild mannered people. love ozzy, warts and all <3
