The idea that Spurs rushed forward their summer goalkeeper plans to cover the injured Vicario & the summer goalkeeper plan is Sam Johnstone is objectively hilarious.
Like, fine, whatever if you want to let Forster go & have Johnstone for a year or two crack on but literally no need to expedite it.
FYI you’re allowed to add three players to your EL squad after the completion of the league phase… so not sure we’d waste one of those spots on Johnstone, especially when Spence is likely to be one.
I'm still annoyed about the GK registration in EL. The rules let you register a min of 2 on the A list and if 1 on A list is out long term(30 days min) you can swap them. So we could have had Spence in the whole time and subbed Forster in for Vic. Article 31.14
Forster for two games in UEL wouldnt be awful but I guess Vic back after that. Allows us not to rush the Vic comeback in the league and cup. Sounds sensible to me as a year or two stop gap until we know how good Keeley or Gunter are
Who else should we be targeting as a back up goalkeeper though? The number of keepers who tick all the boxes, including being available at a reasonable price, is likely vanishingly small

Not seen him but 7 clean sheets in a row is impressive at any level.
Johnstone would be Prem keeper until Vicario is back.
His thinking would be that if he impresses etc etc.
In the summer, move on Forster and Johnstone as backup.
All guesswork obviously 🙂
I don't think it's a replacement for anyone.
