they will definitely do *some* terrible damage, but almost none of these folks are administrators, let alone administrators of large federal bureaucracies, and that will become clear very quickly

I don’t so much have a fear that they’re going to do exactly what they set out to do, so much as I fear that there’s a huge gulf between that and “not fuck up a whole shit load of important stuff while taking away people’s rights.”
At most, there are thousands of these chuds chomping at the bit to destroy the federal government. There are millions of government employees and a not-insubstantial number aren’t just going to cave quietly.
The impoundment stuff scares me but also like, they're going to spend a bunch of time writing/signing executive orders (that will get tied up in courts) and trying to get noms confirmed and then some disaster will happen that will totally suck the wind away from these doge charlatans
Not to mention that Trump is setting up for the first 6 months of his presidency to be a series of brutal confirmation fights where he more or less demands that Senate Republicans walk the plank repeatedly while trying to keep unified the smallest House majority ever
Imagine pre-nominating multiple people, and having "wife of a guy accused of decades of sex abuses and sex trafficking picked for Sec. of Education" is not even the most controversial pick
I'm sure it's been considered slightly more by the P2025 creators, but it really feels like Musk convinced them he can do what he did to Twitter...with the fed. 'Just fire all of them, the app will still run'.
