This isn't really true at all. NYS is a massively party-segregated state in a way that probably rivals most of its New England competitors outside of, like, New Hampshire. Go down to Long Island and it's blood red MAGA, drag-you-behind-a-truck-crime like you don't see anywhere else in the North.
