Depends how severe, assuming it's mild 3-6weeks. If you know a good physio they could get you on the right path quicker, with strengthening and mobilisation exercises.
Especially when I was running long slow days. Kept wandering around the house for food. Somehow, besides the calories burned, my metabolism seemed to get a kickstart. Even on rest days
Haha, at least a month then. Last time I ever played footy I came on as a sub and pulled my groin almost instantly, not badly, but I limped for a month at least. I was in my 40's
I only had that once, in my 30s, and it HUUUURT but the next day I felt much better. Didn't take long at all to recover. I'm betting it would take longer now!

You can do some little exercises to help. Laying on back and bending knee helped me, but probably best to leave it a few days before starting.
I was hoping my Plantar Fascitis would completely heal in a week.. I've been giving it rest for 2 months now.. and it's 80% healed.
But I've discovered something weird..
After I stopped running.. I'm a lot less hungry.. like I'm actually perplexed why portion sizes are so huge?
Maybe I don't need as much fuel since running took a lot of it?
I am 56 though. π€£
