Any tips on what the German style is? Because after reading a recent German letter and comparing it to an American letter for the same candidate, I was left with questions.

This is accurate. 😂 My husband is British and his letters of rec sound like he was not very impressed with the person. I've had to help him Americanize quite a few (leave tear stains on the paper 😂).
Lol. One thing I’m quite sure of is that you’d rather not use ‘quite’ and ‘rather’ as they are rather different in American and British English and can cause quite a confusion that you’d rather avoid.
