This annoys me so much, especially when you see them doing it in groc store parking lots. How is backing into a parking spot. How is that convenient for putting your groceries in your trunk?!
Absolutely. People stop and stare at the idiot (me) backing into the parking space. As a result less cars are moving. When I back out of a parking space, everybody and their mama inexplicably does so all at the same time. How else to avoid a field of white lights and insurance claims?
Way safer way to park. Think about how best to minimize your exposure to blind spots from pull in to pull out. No kid or dog or whatever is going to dart in front of you when backing in. These takes are bad attempts at being edgy.
Upon reflection, I'm not sure if this is a technology thing and is why it is more prevalent these days.
I can get my car to reverse in by itself. I select park, tap on the space I want and take my hands off the wheel. I don't use it because if I'm parking, I'm getting groceries and need access
Personally, I’d prefer to get myself a little agitated parking - knowing I’ll be out of the car in a minute - rather than get myself a little agitated when I’m just about to drive somewhere - as that agitation could lead anger, hate and aggression behind the wheel.
Nope! Not at all, and worse it’s confusing to everybody else when somebody passes a space, then stops and begins to back in. And then when they leave, without reverse lights it’s not obvious when they intend to pull out. With a few exceptions, I consider it selfish behavior. (end of rant)
Bonus: when someone pulls too far into the parking spot on the other side, it’s a bent fender instead of a cracked front grille and possible radiator damage.

No discernable time difference either way .
