If you’re wondering what the general vibes are in Canada right now, every grocery store is brightly labeling which products are made in Canada and I, a person who abhors guns, just Googled the requirements for a firearms license.

Definitely check the labels for produce. There was a big display of "Product of Mexico" tomatoes at my grocery store, but almost all the stickers said "USA"
It’s not difficult. The lessons are easy enough but teach you a lot about firearms handling, storage, etc.
Most courses are a weekend. The RCMP will do a background check. https://rcmp.ca/en/firearms/apply-firearms-licence
It's nice to see.
But remember corporations aren't our friends, they will be the first to roll back once there's no longer an advantage. As we've seen with corps in the US removing DEI programs.
I feel for you guys. The fools who elected Trump ( or didn't bother to vote) get what they deserve in the US. But we watch in horror from Australia while Canada has to share a border with this malevolent idiocy from former ally, now run by men who do not care who they hurt.
Please check for Canadian products yourself. I have seen incorrect signs. No comment as to whether deliberate or not. Yesterday I needed cilantro and the shelf sign said it was a product of Mexico but the tag on the product said US.
I feel weird being the guy who admits to being the one who already owns a gun but a 30-30 is easy to use and easy to get your hands on. Take some time and find what is cheap for ammunition and find a shooting range to be a member at to practice at. Don’t let it be your first time when it matters.
It probably is. A non restricted rifle is more than adequate for almost any situation. I don’t talk about it much but I grew up rural so I have a background in it and it doesn’t need to be flashy to be effective. Which is kind of terrifying.
My husband grew up farm rural too. I never really thought about guns or cared that he has a bunch of them but now I think about this a lot more since we are an hour from the 🇺🇸 border. Surreal and insane.
Agreed. For most people that’s true. Probably me too, laying the lumber is a lot less intimidating than trying to point a gun. I’d need to literally have nothing left to live for to get that far. If it gets that bad I probably don’t want to be here anymore.
Unfortunately if I have a gun in the house the person most in danger is me so I'll have to show up to the Canada America war with a baseball bat full of nails 😒
I fucking hate guns, but I will be signing up for my firearms training in a couple of weeks.
I will not tolerate being threatened by that syphilitic psychopath.
I did lots of shooting & hunting when I was younger. It was fun, but it's kind of a dead-end hobby. Basically you either get to destroy things, or you invest in gun lore.

We’re here, then. I guess I should get on that. I’m only an hour from the border.

I’ve never touched a firearm in my life, considering changing that now.
I’ll never forgive the U.S. for this.
