Listen mate, our disastrous maternal mortality rates and mass shootings are doing fine work dragging down the life expectancy on their own, but they need assistance to make things truly catastrophic.
Why not ruin a 14 year olds life when the investigators comes to ask them why they served alcohol to the drunk who killed a family by crashing into them.
"But, if they can't work, their families will starve!" "Why are their families starving in a day of modern farming and logistics?" "Well, um... That kind of thinking is WOKE!" "No, it's literally the technology line that humanity has been working on since THE GRAINERY!"
I live in Wisconsin. I contact our DWD and OSHA all the time, including the time my employer just started keeping my paycheck. I have never seen them follow up on any of it. It’s cute of them to give a fine now that a kid died, but if they did their job, he wouldn’t have.
Those guardrails won't mean anything to the folks you can't see who are being exploited globally. Capitalism can't fix the problems that capitalism creates.
I think a lot of regulatory stuff like this takes about a generation of people not being affected by the problem to forget it was actually a real problem making it easy to roll back protections by the groups you mentioned. We’re on the same side as far as why things suck in the 21st century.
It is like we woke up and all the Monopolies are back. I remember all the issues in the 70s and why there were so many breakups. There was a perfect opportunity to do this after the banking bailout but Obama blew it. With Labor increasing in strength there is new chance now. Consumers seeing risk.

I’m sorry your workplace is harming you too and that OSHA is toothless to help you.
Which is probably true. They just couldn't care less one way or the other.
