Given that you are being evacuated from a plane in the middle of Toronto I am sure someone can get you your needed medication from a pharmacy instead of you grabbing your luggage and causing the death of a fellow passenger.
In plane evacuations the first instruction they give you is to leave your belongings behind. There are always people who ignore that instruction and cause delays that cost lives. I’m reluctant to cut them any slack.
The point is if the equipment hadn't failed they almost certainly wouldn't have crashed. Just bc the wind/weather acted on the aircraft after it was compromised by equipment failure doesn't mean the weather was the cause. Anyway, we'll see after the investigation.

To flip even a car onto it's back like that there is incredibly significant impact. I was in a nose-over-end flip back in the late 80's in an emergency vehicle as a paramedic, caused by icy roads. It is frightening! I doubt those passengers will want to fly again anytime soon.
Flap actuator... so, a landing flap failed to deploy. This would lead to one wing having more lift/drag than the other, so yeah, the whole thing goes into a roll right there on the runway as they're trying to land.
