this kind of bullshit is a big part of why I stopped bothering looking for work. if my employers aren't gonna treat me with any kind of respect, then why the fuck should I bother working? plus the fact that the act of actually finding work is laborious as fuck
I will never understand why businesses are so dead set against remote workers. As long as you’re getting your work done and it’s of good quality, what difference does it make where you do it?
Eh, the strained wink made me think this wombat is barely holding it together himself, and is ready to go Mortal Wombat the second his self delusions and denial crack, so may redeem himself
Well, you have to consider, you may want to bring donuts, but some co-workers (I hope I didn’t misgender anyone) may have a soy allergy. No kidding! It’s real! My partner has is allergic to soy!
You can’t prove- to the point you can make a hostile work environment claim- that RTO is intended to cause workers to quit. Even with justifications as flimsy as “corporate wants all hands on deck” with no elaboration.
People generally prefer WFH. Like the poster above me, RTO gets folks to quit
For the most part that makes sense. And while unlikely, if one is getting too many RTO’s, it might be a violation of their contract if they were hired remotely.
I've seen this comic so many times, and this is the first time I have thought 'wait a minute, that character's a gator!'
Look, I'm just saying, if eating your boss is a biologically-allowed option...
The only reason corporations don’t want people working from home is so that they don’t feel like they wasted a fuck ton of money building offices and purchasing property that has been shown to be completely unnecessary
boss? Manager* The Only boss is the one sitting in the CEO chair making millions off slaves that are paid in 'chump change" compared to the Boss's Income.
Y'know, if businesses are going to be so cheap that they can't even afford something like in this case donuts you would think they'd be all about remote work specifically so they could save even MORE money by selling their offices, but alas...
In any case, I definitely appreciate your comics. 💖🐊💖
Gives me flashbacks to the time when I went to the Corporate Christmas party, which was an offside location where we had to buy our own food but couldn't drink because "we were still there to representing the company".
I started looking for new jobs that night at the party.
My old company offered a pizza party on my day off and most of the ppl I worked with were vegan and they only had pepperoni and sausage pizza…and it wasn’t enough for the people who showed up lol
this is like when my job had a potluck to "do something nice" for our shift, and then only like 4 people brought stuff and none of it was from the managers (we also had to provide our own plates and napkins and stuff)
It's abdication of leadership to force employees through a change without a clear and necessary justification. If they simply don't trust people or the empty offices hurts their vanity, at least have the integrity to admit such IMO.
They need to keep the inept middle managers employed. They are the epitome of the new service industry, without them all of Reagan's visions will have failed. I say if you must go back only give them answers they want to hear, you know the ones that keeps you from appearing as fighting the flow.

Your own gas.
Your own commute time.
Your own car wear.
Well done.
That wouldn’t count as a *hostile* work environment, right?

And while they're trying...
Not that I advise it. But I don't advise forcing an RTO either!
HASS the ball

He’ll digest the same as anything else, biologically
Yeah you pretty much summed up why I quit corporate.
In any case, I definitely appreciate your comics. 💖🐊💖

-Well the higher ups make a once a month visit but-
"Then why not just schedule that one day?"

He is too short for comfortable punching. You need to focus on punting instead.
