Best alternative to Dropbox for a team to use, please. The experience of using Dropbox is at once akin to having and likely to bring on a nervous breakdown.

There really is no worthy competitor to Google Drive. You'll never get a corrupt file due to simultaneous editing by multiple people. The Google Docs suite of apps are fully compatible with Microsoft Office Docs and PDF. Very mobile friendly. Can sync to desktop 🖥️
Google docs? I know that in Google classroom you can live collaborate on a document. Not sure how it works if you're not an educational est. though. Hope this helps a bit.
The UK/EU animation industry runs on WeTransfer; for a big production where everyone needs access to everything, they give everyone remote access to the studio server. I expect you're looking for something in the middle, but those two have been pretty reliable for at least a decade...
I honestly don't know what I did without it – probably the time-consuming loop of uploading to Google Drive and then deleting once downloaded. It's smashing. I made my US publishers use it when Dropbox didn't work for me.
Not an expert! But a company I work with uses Box. It seems to work well enough in terms of getting material to me but I haven't personally used it to send stuff the other way.

I've used WeTransfer, which generates a link for file sharing.
Good luck.
