I am fortunate to live in an ag county where I can get organic, locally sourced food. We have fish, beef, chicken, and all kinds of fruits and veggies, all close by. Eggs are still only $4.99/dz for cage-free-organic large AA. I'm looking into a freezer and splitting a cow.

I would love this. I grew up in Italian 'hood. Shop for anything needed in local shops in front of someone's home—one shop for cheese, one for meat, one for the baker, etc. Our food is now garbage. The produce is old and sad. Everything is wrapped in planet-killing plastic. Thank God for Bodega.

Mr. Bilancio bought two vacant lots and grew produce for the neighborhood. He had a horse and cart, which was his store for years. Italians love vegetables. Just picked parsley? Yes. My first job was for Nelly's Fruit. Fifty cents an hour. Sweep up, shell shrimp, clean bins, and strip old leaves.

Farm Co-Ops will become a big thing again. Buying produce directly from farmer cooperatives may help farmers again. Although I am not sure what regulations are around this idea anymore.

Post pandemic-when seeds were hard to get-my town now has a seed swap in a space downtown a day each March + a group on FB for year round. They get recently expired seeds from big companies, some bring half packets when they just needed a few and in an hour 100 people have a garden of seeds for free

Don't quote me on this but to my knowledge glass is originally made from sand and difficult to recycle. The necklaces I make are vials of broken uranium glass. I haven't found a local source that makes just the vials. I live in Philadelphia now so I can try. But they might also have to import em.

Yes. To my knowledge most of uranium glass on the market was produced in the United States. But again don't quote me on that. You can make uranium glass into other jewelry - I've bought earrings and such. However, those still require the supplies, just slightly different ones.

Also I live in a big city which gives me the ability to attempt to source locally. But also I'm disabled so walking around isn't always an option. And it's not like public transit is great in Philadelphia or anywhere in America. I'm SEPTA pilled but there's a limit. (And they keep raising the price)

Cool, do you know how to card wool and spindle drop it into yarn? My cousins have llamas. You'd need to import the start up supplies for carding most likely which means you'll have to deal with tariffs and hopefully you can find wood for the spin drop, spindle, and more hooks in America.
