And when I say "on behalf of as part of a nonprofit." I was not paid. I was the vice president of the Michigan chapter of The Children's Heart Foundation, which I became a part of because our youngest child died from congenital heart defects.

I made the mistake of thinking their boss was the house whip/senate leader or the party, I forgot I am the boss. And tbh I do my job better when my boss is aware of what I’m doing and course-correcting. Much better if I think my boss will start a civil war if I don’t do my job.
