weeeeee, got myself an appointment with my GP to discuss taking varenicline as I'm finding it so fucking hard to quite smoking and/or vaping
has anyone taken it before, I've made the mistake of looking at the side effects and now thinking that nicotine may not be so bad after all

Sounds to me like the smoking might be a dopamine thing as well as a nicotine thing and they may have less unpleasant side effects.
The desire to quit has to be greater than the desire to smoke. Nicotine addiction is 1-4 weeks. The habit is hardest to adjust to.
Ween yourself of your favorite times. (After a meal, in a car, wherever & whenever that may be). Find something else to fill that void.
