I have come across far too many who are being “taught” by those who themselves have a substandard education. I am betting far too many will be ill prepared to compete in the workplace.
I have seen a number of “high school” charters that are being “led” by “principals” whose previous experiences were as elementary school teachers.

After my stint as a radical evangelical, I spent considerable time in Michigan trying for change but that’s a massive wall of resistance similar to Illinois.
There are some with special needs that do better in that environment but that’s not the usual at all. Like you said.
@govpritzker.illinois.gov Allow online public schools in IL. That would help fix this issue w/o screwing over the kids who can’t do in-person for reasons. ENOUGH of the Teachers Unions blocking them!!
