NEW: A top official in the Department of Labor this week informed all staff members that they could face criminal charges if they speak to journalists, former employees or others about agency business.

That just tells me there's some really messed up shit happening at Dept. of Labor that the Administration doesn't want the public to know. Only people that have done or are doing wrong take this threatening approach. They know they can't defend what they are doing.
Since when did anyone at the Department of Labor have Classified status?
What ever happened to "Freedom of Speech"?
What is the DOL so afraid its staff might reveal to journalists or former employees?
The tyrant builds walls.
We build bridges.
He shouts lies.
We whisper truth—until it roars.
One match can start a movement.
Light it.

Guess who’s gonna face criminal charges when we get this man out of office. I imagine there’s gonna be a run on the courts for cases against former Trump regime officials.
Umm, isn’t public business supposed to be discussed with the public?
This isn’t Trump or Musks trash NDA’d up corporations.
Also, 1st amendment applies here
How is that legal?
Just keep people informed on a “need to know” basis.
That will control SOME of the leaks.
But the expectation that no one can talk to the media … is hard to enforce and hard to prove.
So … limit the blast radius and hope for the best.
Don't they have the right to free speech? And just what would the criminal charges be? If you don't see the parallel between Trump, Putin and Hitler, the USA is going to hell in a hand basket.
So very hard to believe this has to be done in our Country. I sure pray people in other countries holding elections soon see the consequences of voting for a completely immoral man/woman.
I would love to see the hypothetical law these officials think that makes policy protected from discussion. PII, sure. Other specific info about private citizens and corps, sure.
“'It’s been horrible. It’s been a deeply exhausting roller coaster,' the employee said. 'It’s very difficult to work when you’re in a constant state of being terrorized by your employer.'”
Yes. The deep state they kept whining about turns out to be themselves. If there had previously been a real deep state, trump never would have returned to office.
Making speech by a government agency to disseminate public information about the operations OF that agency a CRIME ? sounds like they're pretty much abolishing the 1st Amendment.
Given how the administration likes to fire people on significant days ( Valentines Day, April Fool’s Day), I fear that the DOL will have a very bad May Day this year. Trump sure to trample workers’ rights that day.

Fuck, I hate these people.
"Top official" is pretty fucking stupid.

You have a right to speak.
You cannot share confidential information.
Talk to a whistleblower attorney to protect your rights. I did.

Don’t be silenced. There’s ways to reach journalists. You have plenty of them right here on this platform.
Please investigate.

Lately, when I see it, I hesitate and try to assess whether the info has been changed to comply with the "alternative facts" these people prefer.
