Read the story. They’re basically saying that the airline should have *forced* him to get treatment before he even got on the plane, and/or been monitoring his health in flight. I hate American Airlines, and won’t fly with them for other reasons, but this really isn’t their fault.
There’s no evidence they knew he was sick until everyone was off the plane and he wasn’t getting up. That’s when the called an ambulance. The rest implies a duty of care suitable for an emergency department, not an airline. It’s just a grieving family looking for someone to blame.
American Airlines is gonna be in deep shit. I’m so sick of shitty service and being in danger all the time and paying an extraordinary amount of money for everything fuck these businesses like seriously.
Without knowing "all the details' and from what could be gleaned from the article this sounds like a constructed case to me.
Like one to squeeze some money out of the airline.
That's absolutely heartbreaking and points to a serious lack of compassion and training. How can we ensure airlines prioritize human lives over schedules and profits?
we won’t ensure that as long as humanity continues to bizarrely operate under the notion that human life can be quantified by pieces of paper that buy health & safety. the wealthy are gonna use whatever methods necessary to get more of that paper. empathy isn’t a “viable currency” so they have none.
This should NEVER have happened. These lawsuits cost the airlines unnecessary millions. Then they pass the cost of their negligence onto U.S. consumers.
Proof that flight crews have no idea about taking charge of any situation. That crew should be held accountable for not calling for assistance immediately and letting paramedics take the man off immediately.
Trump's Maga white trash can't afford to eat or buy a house how can they afford to have more kids; ask trailer trash Boebert; But, "don't yell Beetlejuice 3 times in a theater or on the house floor she will or MTG will sexually fondle you" or "literally orally" or "ask Gates underage girls 3 Mile...
Getting the distinct impression that no one commenting bothered to actually read the story. All we actually know is that he was sick at the airport but got on the plane anyway, and the airline didn’t call an ambulance until what was likely their first opportunity to learn he was sick.
It would have been *his choice* not to seek care at the airport. There’s no evidence he asked for help or displayed symptoms the flight attendants or other passengers would have been aware of on the plane. Probably he came to their notice when he didn’t get up to deplane.
American is a shitty airline, and I have absolutely no trouble believing they’re capable of murder. I certainly don’t fly with them. But just because a grieving family lashes out doesn’t mean the target of their anger is actually to blame. Even if said target happens to generally sucks.

I am so sorry for this man’s family.
And so glad I quit AA over a decade ago.
