Comments
My goal this past year was to learn/run 3 new RPGs, & I failed miserably (the half-dozen one-shots of CoC I ran before this year doesn't count toward the 3). This coming year my goal is to learn/run 1 new game.
I think my 2024 was
- Call of Cthulhu
- D&D 5E
- Dungeon Crawl Classics
- FF Star Wars
- Eat the Reich
And some 1 page RPGs from Grant Howit and one I made myself.
What do you think was your highlight session of the year?
Usually have more short games in there, but not this year.
Bottom 5 lists are popular, but I'd much rather talk about what I enjoyed.
So a different take, which session of any game you played this year stands out as the best and why?
It's weird and almost experimental in nature and doesn't even follow the conventional Traveller rules. It takes place over 10,000 years. I was terrified it'd bomb, but ended up being the best game I've run in years.
Traveller
Call of Cthulhu
Dungeons and Dragons
Savage Worlds
Marvel Super Heroes
Old School Essentials
But out of the games I first played in 2024, I'd say Bladerunner (save for those dice. I'm 100% convinced those dang things hated me).
