the shooter's manifesto just reads like a pretty normal, middle of the road kinda guy, not an ideologue or anything, which, damn, that's gotta scare people

Honestly feels like this is more of a confession note than a manifesto. There isn't really a call to arms (depending on how you read the last line) and he probably scrambled to put this together in a neat bow once he started feeling the walls close in
When I was 25 I remember talking to my other 25 year old friends about how fucking terrible our society was, I think this is just how working class peopl feel in America generally.
If he actually is the shooter, and *that* is as bad as his opinions get, he'll never get convicted. That was the writing of an average person pushed too far, not a mad genius or a fundamentalist gunsel.
yeah between that and how absolutely everyone was endorsing his actions - even on Linkedin! and other real-name centric sites! - I would expect some folks are real worried rn.
Reading everything that's available from him, it's clear he's not a kook. He has a mix of political views but no more than anybody else. He's just a person who snapped somehow.
that's entirely why the mainstream news outlets haven't released it in full and why they're insisting on calling it a manifesto instead of e.g. a note or letter
