Like also the special trans/GN/third WCs that they’re suddenly expecting trans people (women) to use. FFS we can’t get accessible WCs for disabled people as it is… where are they all suppose to come from? And hospital places… they know about the waiting lists, right? A simple diagnosis. Children and Parents would benefit from early diagnosis so they can safely navigate planning their child's future. Therapeutic intervention would include education and socialisation.

Again, "socialisation" has my alarm bells ringing. Even if this wasn't pretty dodgy looking, giving the USA, as it is now, and biological test for autism seems like a fast track to an atrocity rather than a way to ensure autistic children get the neuro affirming support and accommodations they need.

It's really upsetting how badly the government/NHS jerk into things without proper consultation. There's a link between so many rarer physical and mental differences from being left handed, hypermobility, autism, sex/gender differences. Parents/schools need education and support.

I had to take my extremely obvious non verbal autistic son to Great Ormond Street to get a diagnosis back in the early noughties. He never made it into the main room as they couldn’t drag him away from his favourite toys that they also had in in the waiting room

Thanks Chris. There was undoubtedly some pressure back in those days to reduce the numbers being diagnosed. I would like to think we have moved on but somehow I doubt it.
