Compare this to construction industry deaths which significantly reduced after politicians campaigned for safety laws. This too is a failing system that enables death. Politicians aren’t thinking about it in health and safety terms i.e. overhaul, make safe. They just want to placate the far right.

Ministers breaking international law and knowingly causing avoidable deaths. Does "sovereign decision making" protect them from being prosecuted for hate speech and murder? No. Only if there is a police and CPS cover-up which may be perverting the course of justice? Inquiring minds need to know!

Do they think it's a sign of weakness to open safe routes, or that the whole of the world's refugee population will suddenly decide the UK is the place to be?
