I can't even begin... I love this country so much, I wanted to live here since I was conscious. I've now been here for almost 15years, I am uber assimilated and all that...yet since BX I've been constantly asked where I'm from and hearing the anti-immigration rhetoric is just grinding me down...

The craziest bit they ignore is permanent immigration is fuelled by Brexit & no FoM.

The seasonal European working migrants would come & go with the work.

Immigration dropping down the agenda post-referendum has little or nothing to do with people feeling heard (as per Goodwin) and everything to do with the right-wing press, having secured their desideratum, choosing to de-emphasise the issue.

The (largely non-dom) big media owners never much cared about immigration (why would they?), but have always found it most useful in stirring up the masses.

Count the number of tabloid front pages bemoaning immigration in the run-up to referendum, in the aftermath and more recently. Tells a story.
