If the federal government keeps impairing and actively denying fulfilling their obligations, the states almost have a responsibility to begin working on secession. That would also include an end to federal taxes, which some states could benefit from tbh.

Illinois should set up its own loan forgiveness program that requires state residency for a set number of years plus working for a non-profit and/or state/local government. For example, a way to address teaching or nursing shortages.
