We went up Cadillac Mountain in Acadia NP in Maine to be the first see the sunrise in the US. A helpful local told us we actually needed to be up there 90 minutes before the actual sunrise time to catch “first light.” She was right , and it was incredible
Awake! For morning in the bowl of night,
has cast the stone that puts the stars to flight
and lo the hunter in the East has caught
the Sultan's turret in a noose of light.
I spent years living outside of GNP and I always loved capturing the lakes when they were very calm. Have some amazing mirror images I’ll have to dig up ! Thanks for the thanks! I love sharing my time there!
Stunning. I have a particular fondness for the Scottish landscape, I feel so connected to nature when I visit.
Following you now to enjoy more scenic vistas.
That sure is beautiful Steve! I live in Missouri and we've had our fair share of freezing weather! We were expecting snow where I'm at but it never materialized!
Fantastic shot! I trust you had a thermos of something warm close to hand.
I went across to Achnasheen on a windy rainy day last summer. On Applecross, Loch Carron we had visibility, but that dropped considerably on the moors. Even the dog was happy with a just a quick run before heading south.
I went down Alaska cruise this last year. This view was so common in every day. We actually had weather in the 70s every single day for 15 days on our land and cruise trip apparently unheard of.

beautiful
Blue Hour is underrated when compared to Golden Hour, but so calm
Sometimes when there are clouds in the sky, you get a similar kind of "glow" as dawn breaks - like the afterglow when the sun sets.
Happy Sunday 😊
Thanks for sharing.

When it is 3C plus for a couple of days, the midges will be out in force, no matter what time of year.
I'm much further south, but I saw some yesterday, and we too still have snow on the hills. The ice in the pot holes has melted, so mind your axles!
