can't think of an argument against this

not everyone has agreed with me about this but my read is that schumer is essentially telling donald trump to frame mahmoud khalil for something, anything, so that he can openly support his expulsion. trump does not seem to respect schumer enough to do this.

The only caveat I think is that respect for Schumer may not come into it at all, Trump is very specifically trying to assert his right to deport someone *without* their having committed a crime. He won't make one up because the point isn't this deportation itself, it's the power to do it arbitrarily

The most frustrating thing about Schumer is (under the assumption elections will still matter), he'll be fine. He still has 4 years and people will memory hole all this as everything else continues to get worse.

Chamberlain is enjoying something of a renaissance in historical circles now, in that he knew appeasement wouldn't work long-term to deter Hitler but it would give Britain short-term breathing room to prepare for another war.

Don't think the same will ever be said of Schumer.
