blind alley 🫶🏻

in other news, an armed man used an AR-15 in a provocative manner at a local grocery store

also shit like this is a reminder why flight attendant's unions have the power to collapse this country. they are critical first responders. nothing moves without them and when shit goes wrong they save so many lives.

Adorno got it right in 1945

One ethic for making challenging work (movies, music, paintings, etc) I've been thinking about goes something like Audience: Oh shit, I gotta figure out this? Artist: Ya Audience: And if I don't want to? Artist: Then I have bad news for your experience of the rest of the world beyond this artwork

actually I'm the only one who's mentally healthy and all of my behaviors are the normal behaviors.

post a meme made by you

(Great piece based on Waste Wars: Dirty Deals, International Rivalries and the Scandalous Afterlife of Rubbish by Alexander Clapp here: www.theguardian.com/news/2025/fe...)

if you were accidentally fired while transporting a nuclear warhead and currently need a place to stay with said warhead please know that i have a sizable backyard and an abiding desire to be a nuclear power

Two points on the whole AI crap. 1. I remember being an educator when wikipedia arrived on the scene, and our whole profession having absolute fits, forbidding students from referencing it etc. Wikipedia was and is GREAT for students. Now with AI? Immediate capitulation. bsky.app/profile/jkst...

We had Youtube Video Essays in the 90s. We called it "Show & Tell". You would try to explain "The Complete History of Big Bad Beetleborgs" to a group of kids with a toy. Then if they disagreed you would get "ratioed" & they would throw rocks at you. This was considered "Cringe".

Saw a screening of a few of David Lynch’s short films. I miss seeing art made viscerally, cheaply, and for a small messy audience. It actually makes the world feel bigger and more interesting. Mass appeal shrinks it all down. Shit inspired me. Glad I saw it.

Prius at 0:16 doing the ope let me sneak by you real quick

I found this from back in 2019 when James Baxter visited the studio and gave us a lecture on animating four legged animals. i had no idea what was doing at the time.😅anatomy needs a lot of work. I didn't have a 3d software so I just recorded this on my phone in my flat I had in Madrid at the time.

In my city there is one cybertruck and one DIY parody of a cybertruck and the parody truck has become a local celebrity. Meanwhile, I always wish I had some rotten eggs to throw at the tesla whenever I see it.

How long could use the Mickey PC?

ANALOG MEDIA FOREVER

Please, please archive your work. Please. I’ve recently been saving lots of my essays as pdfs just so the Internet doesn’t suddenly delete them all (this happened to a whole load of blogs I wrote for The Independent years ago). I don’t want you to wake up and suddenly find your work gone like I did.

Anime store near me reopened and to celebrate they brought in a dog named Ein that you could pet

JFC indeed.

yes but is it possible we have too many kids? at least this admin is bold enough to ask the question

You see the same misunderstanding around the phrase “banality of evil” when they assume it means Nazis were boring when it actually means everyone was a Nazi. No one wanted to be anything else. To not be a Nazi was deviant behaviour

As a political scientist who studies countries that managed to stop the slide into authoritarianism, I can assure you that ***refraining from provoking the authoritarian*** is not how it works. Without further ado, I will now go tear out another chunk of hair.

for a while Musk really did seem like the most relatable billionaire. yeah, if i had that kind of money I'd want to go to space and make sports cars, etc. Turned out that was just PR, and what he really wanted out of life was to be seen as funny by teenaged Nazis on the Internet

Sad to report I just lost my job at nuclear, after 40 years of faithful service overseeing the US nuclear arsenal. My job was keeping all the nukes from exploding by pressing the don't explode button every 48 hours.

Crazy that he's based off an Atomic Bomb victim alien from a banned episode of Ultraseven (episode TWELVE in fact). Maybe that's why CAPCOM won't bring him back.

(explaining bugs bunny to a girl) ok the thing you gotta know about this guy is hes basically never serious. He is always clowning on others

Every now and then I think about my favorite substitute teacher I ever had: a woman who would always place a green towel over the teacher’s desk and call it her work station, spoke exclusively in rhyme, let us do whatever we wanted in class, and got fired for taking a shit in the hallway

logging on

evergreen sentiment

The thing about superhero fatigue is that the Marvel movies used to be better, it isn't just that audiences got bored, they were better made movies, and I highlighted this fight scene from Winter Soldier before to showcase something; they actually had some excellent action choreography. You see...

7 Stages of Pen Grief: 1. Realizing it doesn't work 2. Scribbling on the notebook 3. Scribbling harder on some cardboard or whatever 4. Looking at the full ink reservoir and frowning 5. Sucking on the ballpoint 6. Scribbling on the notebook some more 7. Throwing it across the room
