A US-born citizen was walking near Chicago in January. ICE snatched him off the street, handcuffed him, threw into a van. His wallet, which contained his ID, was confiscated. He was detained for 10 hours before being released without a record of what occurred.

Mahmoud Khalil was at least somewhat justified, in that he may well have been in violation of his green card terms (i.e. you can't advocate for terrorists and terrorism). So there were legitimate questions about him.

Even so, I don't think ICE followed due process with him, and that is wrong.

Also, people don't remember they were detaining green card holders & searching naturalization records during Reign 1. They also deported military vets who were promised citizenship if they served honorably. That was the floor for Reign 2.
