Gonna be real, I don't think "leftist" gun clubs are a good idea. Get friends who shoot, go to the range and shoot. You don't need to make a roster to learn how to use a gun. I just don't think you need to bring politics into basic self-defense unless your only reason to not buying a gun is being terrified that you'll end up with a far right gun safety instructor, and even then, most of them hide their politics so they can earn a paycheck

hell, when I was 7 years old living in the country, my dad made me take a gun safety lesson at the range and I'm pretty sure it was run by the nra, and it clearly didn't effect my politics any lol

Most right wing dominated hunting/shooting clubs in Pennsylvania have waiting lists to get in, folks have to move or die for you to get in. Start a shooting club with friends. Plenty of centrists who will shoot with you.

I addressed this by saying "get friends who shoot". You dont need to be on a roster to find people to shoot with. I'm empathetic to that issue, but like I've said better to shoot a target than make yourself one. You don't need a politically oriented gun club to find people to learn from.

Not everyone can do that though, either because their friends aren't willing to touch guns or they're just socially isolated in general. Sometimes a more structured and impersonal way of getting support is valuable, especially for people scared they might stand out in a typical gun club.

My point is just to get people critically thinking about how they do these things. Everyone has their own struggles, but I'm talking generally for a reason. My point is there are other and more secure methods to learn.
