I do really struggle with being talked at by white guys and it feels very sports podcasty. But we do need shows like this for the folks who do enjoy being mansplained at and in fact need it to know how to think. There’s gotta be a Rogan alternative.

It’s crazy to me how soft people have become to criticism. I was once lambasted in a book group for giving my honest review. I was told that if I didn’t have anything nice to say I should just stfu and that my criticism of the book was a personal attack against the author.
Yeah it's gotten ridiculous. Without criticism we can't effectively grow. Maybe i just enjoy criticizing things lol but if it weren't for criticism I wouldn't be as "far left" as I am today and I surely wouldn't have improved in basically every aspect of my life. We see what "yes men" has led us to.

I tried to listen to one of their podcasts because of the “dethroning” of Joe Rogan, and I got about 10 minutes in (it was a loooong ten minutes) and just went “I do not like this at all” and turned it off. It was boring and repetitive, and the hosts had all the charisma of a piece of wet cardboard.
Why does “the left” insist on putting down other platforms sharing information with the same bottom line? We can disagree on how the information is put out, but why not just hate on barstool or joe Rogan or newsmax and talk about the lies and propaganda they are already? Genuine question, no hate!

Having a criticism about the way they deliver politics and supporting them in passing the JR podcast are not mutually exclusive. I personally hate listening to MT, but recognize that any attention to the cause is beneficial. Just watch Aaron Parnas instead lol
Yeah they're annoying but they're doing way more socially than you are at advocating for anything left of center. Pick better targets to attack. If they start selling out I'll change my tune but being click bait isn't that bad.
My issue with them is it seems too gossipy. It's about THEM reporting the news. "Hey, I'm sick, I'm getting my teeth whitened, but we have breaking news.

Why? All of their information seems to be accurate. If I remember correctly, you posted about the plane crash in Philly and claimed there were going to be many casualties. But only the people in the plane passed. You have to do better given the number of followers you have.

Infighting over the illusion of perfection on the left and using your own platform to encourage it is not only not constructive, it's actively disruptive to attempts at unifying on the left. I'm not a fan of their sensationalist headlines either but they're important for forward movement.

Barstool really sucks so that’s why a lot of us are confused. They just repost other people’s content without compensation to the original owner. I believe that is the comparison being made here.
Because they are really similar. MTN aren’t journalists. They aren’t breaking news. They are influencers/podcasters taking the daily news that broke from actual journalists and spinning it into sensationalist drivel to boost engagement. They are more concerned with growing their viewership then 1/

When I first joined BS I followed them and within a week I had to unfollow bc they constantly just spammed the feeds by resharing all the fan accts praising them. It’s was obnoxious. While I don’t disagree, they attract a certain frat boy energy that would otherwise be going to guys like Andrew Tate and Donald Trump. We have needed energy like this on the left for a very long time.
