Not for turkey. Apples are delicious with pork, including in stuffing for a pork roast, but I personally don’t find them appealing with poultry. Also, for Thanksgiving 😸

That depends on what you are stuffing.
In a goose or pork they are good but fowl and turkey is a bit iffy to my mind since both are already sweet tasting.
To help keep turkey moist a little minced pork fat helps with keeping it moist. Your choice cousin.
Maybe. I use apples in sauerkraut and they give it a nice texture. I have apples left over from my pie so maybe I'll give it ago. If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate them.
I'll never forget the time my father threw the turkey out the window because my mom put oysters in the stuffing. I say put WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT in your stuffing! And enjoy every bite.
Applesauce as a side dish. If people want to mix it into their stuffing, that’s their choice.
Kind of like the people who mix corn into mashed potatoes. I never understood that. You work so hard to make sure the mashed potatoes are smooth, then people add corn to make it lumpy.
When you get older and she’s gone; you’re going to try it. Then, with tears in your eyes, you’ll admit it is good. And your heart will fill with Christmas
It really depends on how and what else you are making. I have harvested wild grouse, brined in apple juice, then smoked, served with a dressing with apple. It paired well.
Not American, not doing thanksgiving, but we have the tradition of a St. Martin's goose in Nov and that would not work without apples. So for me definitely YES
Stuffing or dressing? Lightly stuffing fruit and herbs into cavity of roasting bird is yummy. A “casserole” of “dressing” can be jazzed up with small pieces of root veg and fruit, depending upon the fussiness of traditionalists who can happily complain as they pick out the apple and white raisins.
Apple, walnut and sage stuffing. Very good. Just depends on what apples you use and how you prepare them. I like them on side so everyone can add them to their stuffing as they choose.
Uh-oh! This is the one. There's always one last post in my vetting that convinces me to follow back. You almost had me at first glance with your shield maiden mention and seeing Hoodlum's face. But hazelnuts?!?!! I am hopelessly addicted. 😜
Nice!
But, ugh, that reminds me that I have a pound or two of blanched hazelnuts that I ordered online over a year ago still in their shipping envelope in the fridge. I was on a homemade sorbet and ice cream kick but it ended before I got around to trying my hand at hazelnut gelato. What a wa$te!

Just need add onion and mix in lots and lots of chopped bacon with layer of crispy bacon bits on top 🤪. its - Broke the Mouth!
Or left crunchy for a better texture?

Craisins Yes
Anchovies No
As for apples I have no strong opinion. Sounds like it could work but not going to care if they're not there.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Generally speaking, I'm anti apple in stuffing because I already use cranberries and apples make it too similar to bread pudding.
Cornbread dressing…nope
Bacon 🥓 here
