OR a stationary bike generator while working from home... no need for heating then and use the power created to run the computer.

We had a look at this a while back too and it was definitely commuting at that time. Comfort of Passivhaus hard to beat too. Happily we now have toasty new build office too.

This is a road that we are just starting on. We have talked to one company for advice and cost. I would be interested to know (if possible) who you have used, if not in house, to analyse your CO2 footprint

Interested to know if the wfh energy is based on meter readings year on year...
But quick fix for that is ASHP - we've reduced CO2 5-fold over gas with this, and similar level of reduction for EV vs petrol car

Yes that would reduce impact significantly, the downside is potentially quite a big cost. Tho with the BUS grants the heat pumps might be a good option. An interesting idea was brought up, whether the company could/ should invest internally (rather than offsetting) to reduce any residual impact

Possibly tricky for company to invest in some employees houses - perhaps could subsidise loan insurance? And provide technical advice to ensure employee running costs were reduced due to ASHP install?

Transport could be addressed with salary sacrifice scheme - do you do that already for bicycles? I think basically means bought out of pre-tax income, so cheaper. Can be done for EVs where leased, and only subject to 2% BIK tax, so cheapest way to run EV - and can lease used cars for min cost
