A classic example of added complexity and cost, but without added value. One for @ecominimalnick.bsky.social

Pretty much the perfect bellcurve of PV electricity generation today ☀️⚡ 💡🔌

Amber heat alert issued across England with warning of ‘rise in deaths’

This is the right image to use for a heat wave; not one of children playing in the fountain or people frolicking on the beach.

Is the UK hot right now? YES - it's hot! Live temperature updates hour by hour, every day. istheukhotrightnow.com

A straw-insulated home does not need to shout - it simply feels right. @jurajmikurcik.bsky.social’s home holds steady at 21°C even in a heatwave. Visit a Passivhaus near you during their Open Days later this month: www.passivhaustrust.org.uk/event_detail...

Old Holloway won't be open this month but many other projects will. Please check out @passivhaustrust.bsky.social website for details and registration 👇

If anyone is sad enough to remember the neo-gothic Grand Design, it's up for sale in the village next door 🕷️ www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/1...

Heading to Cambridge later in the week. What are the most photogenic places?

Really pleased the government has listened to my and others' long-standing campaigning and will require solar panels on all new homes—a no-brainer policy. Now we must go further: ensure new homes have proper insulation, flood resilience, and protection from overheating.

This is @jurajmikurcik.bsky.social wonderful and wonderfully documented(!) #strawhouse. See his Blog! It's even available as a kit from @ecococon.bsky.social

An update, getting closer to production

Bikes seem to be a popular choice of transport at @hayfestival.bsky.social 👌

We need to stop buying ruSSian gas & oil

Good news today for people in terraced houses in particular - they can now install a heat pump anywhere they want in their garden. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
