There's a youtuber I watch who's literally called Mick and when he lived in the UK as a kid, a teacher refused to call him that.
I live in England, maybe that has something to do with it.
Like how in spots of the southern US there's been a misconception over this for so long that colloquially people use Patty to mean Patrick and Patti for Patricia.. places like SC/NC/GA etc etc. 🤔
