EXCLUSIVE: A whistleblower tells Congress and NPR that DOGE may have taken sensitive labor data and hid its tracks. "None of that ... information should ever leave the agency," said a former NLRB official.

Trump tried to bury this story on a Friday night, but it’s extremely important: He’s planning to take land on the border controlled by the Dept. of Interior and sign it over to Dept. of Defense so migrants “would have trespassed on a military installation,” resulting in harsher punishment.

This seems right, and all of this is WRONG.

NEW: NOAA scientists are cleaning office bathrooms and reconsidering critical experiments after the Commerce Department failed to renew contracts for hazardous waste disposal, janitorial services, IT and building maintenance. By @lisalsong.bsky.social

A DHS spokesperson defended Trump’s gutting of the agency’s civil rights office, saying of the fired staffers: “rather than supporting law enforcement efforts, they often functioned as internal adversaries to slow down operations.” By @davidmcswane.bsky.social & @hannahallam.bsky.social

It’s a recalibration of economic control. Oligarchs don’t live paycheck to paycheck. They have the capital to buy market dips and recoup faster, acquiring more assets at fire sale prices along the way. When the dust finally settles, they will own more. The rest of us will own less. A lot less.

Just finished watching an episode of Star Trek: TNG called "The Drumhead". Released in 1991, but it all seemed so relevant to today's political climate. Adeline Panamaroff did a good job analyzing it in her article from 2022. www.startrek.com/news/next-ge...

oh my god -- Comer thinks "editorial standards" literally refers to standards for editorials and is corrected by the NPR head

St. Patty's beer of choice this year 🍻

Many hours have passed and I’ve thought about what happened in the Senate some more. And you know what? I’m still mad as hell. I may just repost their names every day until everyone knows them by heart.

The FDA has apparently raided a company that sells poppers. A reminder that RFK Jr. believes the anti-LGBT conspiracy theory that poppers cause AIDS. www.them.us/story/rfk-jr...

To think I defended Schumer as being pragmatic at one time. He's such a fucking weasel.

Trump walks to Marine One to head to Mar-a-Lago to play golf on the taxpayers dime. This trip will cost us $3.1 million, which could be used by USAID to feed 710 starving children for a full year.

SCOOP --> Trump's State Department quietly terminated a contract that was in the process of transferring evidence of Russian abductions of Ukrainian kids to European law enforcement, two sources familiar with the situation tell me. Details here: newrepublic.com/article/1927...

Theeere it is

KEEP CALLING. PEEL OFF ALL DEM SENATORS YOU CAN. ☎️: (202) 224-3121 Tell them to vote NO on Cloture and NO on CR. Vote is pushed to after 1:15ish for now. Situation is fluid. The only public YES votes are Schumer and Fetterman. They need 7-8 total. KEEP CALLING. Call retiring Senators too!

Two inches of raw sewage. Black mold. A bat infestation. Reporter @emilyschwing.bsky.social shares what she uncovered as she investigated dangerous conditions inside Alaska’s deteriorating public schools:

NEW: When ProPublica and @texastribune.org asked the Valere Public Schools board whether it had any plans to make changes to the pay that Salvador Cavazos receives on top of his base salary, the board sent a one-word response: “No.”

A YES on cloture is a YES for the bill. Do not let anyone play games with you.

I would like to address Schumer’s alarmist line that the courts will “stop” unless Democrats CAVE IN to Trump’s budget. As I’ve written *repeatedly* THE COURTS WILL NOT STOP TRUMP, NOR HAVE THEY. They’ve told him to turn the money back on ALREADY… HE HASN’T!!

It's funny thinking back to the argument that Dems couldn't get rid of the filibuster when they were in power because they'd miss it once the GOP was in power.

I cannot emphasize this enough: no one will remember the shutdown even happened when it’s time to vote next year. One way or the other!

I would support this! We need to primary the dinosaurs.

NEW: Employees at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency tell WIRED they’re struggling to protect the US while the administration dismisses their colleagues and poisons their partnerships.

“Representatives of President Trump’s family have held talks to take a financial stake in the U.S. arm of crypto exchange Binance, … a move that would put Trump in business with the firm that pleaded guilty in 2023 to violating anti-money-laundering requirements.”

New: we've obtained a leaked list of the more than 200 sites, services, apps an ICE surveillance contractor monitors. Bluesky, OnlyFans, many more. Used to track targets. Highly relevant with the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil by ICE. We've published the full list here: www.404media.co/the-200-site...

This article is a genuine must read if you care about the future of the US, the economy and Social Security. Not exaggerating. www.propublica.org/article/reco...

JD Vance claimed on X that “Slava Ukraini” protesters followed him & shouted at his daughter. Guess he didn’t realize it was caught on camera. No one yelled at his kid, and they didn’t follow them. Vance & Musk need to quit using children as shields. The public isn’t backing down—we want answers.

Omg 😂

Columbia grad student with a green card and a pregnant US citizen wife, abducted by ICE because of his political organizing, and now his lawyers can't find him. Hey, @schumer.senate.gov. This is your constituent. Bring him back home.

DOGE cut off payments for the electricity, cell phone, and internet service of U.S. government employees who work in a high-risk area in Central America. Meanwhile, DOGE apparently plans to spend $25,000 to install a washer and dryer for their own personal use in a federal office building in DC.

I would absolutely believe that Jim Comer thinks reading a newspaper is against the law.

Thanks for everything George Lowe.

Watters: You are trying to impress people that no one cares about. That’s what wrong with the Democrats. They are always trying to be popular with the wrong crowd like… women

this makes me sick to my stomach theintercept.com/2025/02/11/c...

An NPR review of new data added to DOGE's "wall of receipts" finds the group quietly changed previous errors, added new ones and still has little verified savings to show for its work.

HEY EVERYONE REMEMBER WHEN TRUMP WAS IMPEACHED FOR DENYING AID TO UKRAINE BECAUSE HE WANTED ZELENSKY TO LIE AND SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT BIDEN AND ZELENKSY WOULDN’T DO IT? Maybe literally one fucking American newspapers could mention this in their, “think pieces,” about what happened yesterday.
