Even if Ardolis did not have make up questions and was not declining, how does this make sense in terms of resource allocation?
Still not sure if it's good resource allocation considering Hendrick's contract and a glaring holes in the rotation and the lineup.

He is still elite by stuff+ for example.
Watch him pitch. His velocity is way down (-3.3 mph on the four seamer from 2023), his slider is flatter, his splitter lost tumble, and hitters hit all his pitches more in 2024 than 2023. His stuff is declining and not near 95th percentile.
