Thread, on the illegal orders being given to the federal government, blocking money that has already been allocated by Congress

To play this out, there will be literally dozens of lawsuits challenging what OMB is doing on the ground that it violates the Impoundment Control Act of 1974. Trump’s DOJ will argue that the Act is unconstitutional. And this will quickly get to #SCOTUS, where it will be the biggest case of the term.

Sure it will be streamlined directly to the SC too. Unlike the other case that they took forever to rule on.
Institutions are put in place by those in power.
They need a crisis to accelerate the takeover.

IMO we must not respond in the way he expects. Financial protests must be creative, widespread, & as far as he is concerned-unstoppable by force. Maybe start the coordination phase by not making a single purchase on the final day of the month, or similar.
-unilaterally rewrite constitution (see birthright citizenship)
-summarily “nullify” regulations (see civil service rules, OPM memo dated 1/27/25)
-supersede congressional powers (see impoundment of funds)…
-vilify and delegitimize existence of minorities (see anti-transgender orders)
-empower oligarchs (see Musk et al)
-and on and on and on…..
-appoint unqualified cronies to lead national security agencies (see Hegseth, Gabbard, Patel, etc, etc, etc)
-cash in on elective office (see $Strump, and too many more to count)…
-rewrite history (see Jan 6 pardons)
-empower and validate paramilitaries (see again Jan 6 pardons, subsequent appearance with president on stage)…
-threaten to invade foreign countries (see Panama, Greenland)
-purge internal watchdogs (see inspectors general)
-threaten civil servants to get them to inform on dissenters (see anti-DEI orders/memos)…
At some point, all of this stuff shows up in the demand curve and unemployment rate.
