I have spent a lot of this year working very hard to get through my "to play" list. I'm determined to play everything i have through once at least. if i like something i stick with it longer (still savouring Baldur's Gate 3, for instance)
I hate these sales. Because I want to finally get games I want. But I'm also the person who needs to play the game as soon as I buy it and play it all the way through before starting a new game. Otherwise I never play it or I don't finish it.
I tried that. I swear, but somehow it grew. I definitely didn't get distracted by other games as I browsed through Steam or anything like that. More just somehow appeared in my wishlist. I must have been hacked... Yeah, that's it.
You can also make this situation worse by wishlisting more games so when they do all go on sale choice paralysis kicks in due to the bounty of options.
I bought mad max and battlefield 4. Great games but I can't play battlefield because I KEEP GETTING KILLED BY PEOPLE WITH HELICOPTERS. The lesson I learned from this was to only play singleplayer games and fortnite.
