It’s a lot like a Atlus love letter to their other RPG titles. You’ve basically got the body of a persona game with the soul of an SMT game. They even have a bit of Etrian Odyssey in there holding together the leveling and equipment screen.

Personally, it feels like all the qol changes from royal, in a new setting, with the ability to completely avoid turn based fights in dungeons by hopping em righbt quick - and it never starts a turn based unless they out level you or you manually tell it to.

It's a pretty meaty demo, too! Like. I got 6 hours in before I hit the end of the demo, it's like the first 6 hours of the game.

I largely enjoyed my time with it, but after tens of hours fighting for the honor of monarchy, i got fed up. The game just wouldn't shut up about how important it was to use the unprecedented opportunity for democracy to save some prince i don't even know.
I assume it gets smarter bc ppl like it
