This one has been driving me absolutely insane. People tell me that it has been a thing for a long time in the south, but I guess it caught on and spread with streamers. It seems like a conflation of "welcome" and "well, come in". Language-using knuckleheads are always doing things like that.
My last job practically required us to say that. It took me at least a month to squash the urge to shout it at every customer at my current job, where no one cares if you greet them upon entry at all.
