My periods were HORRIBLE, caused missed school, work, fun; NSAIDs couldn't control pain or clots; and often lasted 10 days, though the worst of it was confined to the first 3-5 days.
My hysterectomy was such a sweet relief!
If they’re dismissive, find a new provider. You deserve better.

Please. We know it’s exhausting finding new providers but your health and well being is worth it. There are physicians who pay attention and care. 🙏
That is why when it does, people tell you things like, it is not that big a deal. Get over it. Reason being, they think your period is like theirs a minor thing that with planning is no big deal...They don't flood or hurt. Mine interfered!
Why would someone expect the cycle _not_ to interfere in the slightest with their life?
I am talking about a period within the normal range, a healthy woman‘s body going through the cycle.
