How coincidental this appeared on my feed again: My household is riddled with this year's Flu, and yet I feel absolutely fine because I just got my shots last December.
I mask at work regardless, but especially right now, as there's a very high chance I'm a carrier.
So how do vaccines help? Vaccines can contain weakened or inactive parts of a particular organism (antigen) that triggers an immune response within the body. Newer vaccines contain the blueprint for producing antigens rather than the antigen itself.
In reference to the images above, think about why we may call something NOVEL. New Pathogen? Essentially NO antibody. This is where vaccines work. They can help prevent disease. When not enough people get them, diseases can return.
mRNA vaccines instruct your cells to reproduce a protein that is part of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which helps your body recognize and fight the virus, if it comes along. Note. The spike protein IS NOT the virus. Itβs a protein. It canβt do anything on its own without other
Hey, I thought I'd comment here in case anyone might know - my parents were antivax and I'm trying to catch up on my vaccines. I've got no insurance rn, and shingles costs 260 to get at walmart... is there a cheaper way to get vaccines? I'm in western Washington!
I would double check your local health department! They will sometimes give vaccines low to no cost! Iβll check and see what else I might be able to find for you!
What I actually learned: Vaccines train the body to recognize bad foreign entities faster and to deal with them promptly. (actually already knew this but the animation is fun)
This is an amazing video. So succinct and funny. And with English captions. I saw where you gave attribution to the website and org. That made video. It Iβd like to send this particular one above with the English captions to a few non Blue Sky users. Is it findable on You Tube?
Hey I found it. A FB embedded link came up when I Googled, my cousin is on FB, so when I send it she will be able to see it. Thanks. And thanks for posting what you do. I literally have followed your account from early COVID yrs. on Twitter & was happy to see you here. (1)
Know that the information you post has been helpful to others. You are doing the decent human being thing well. And I appreciate it, from a random internet stranger who is not in the sciences ππ. (2)
Absolutely love seeing this, every time. I feel like, if I could somehow, shoving it in the face of many people I know and forcing them to watch it. Then, as it ends, put it down and look at them in the face, inches away, asking: "Well? Do you f#$king understand now?"
I don't know if they still work, I actually looked in my pin feed recently & saw a months-old post from Jaz saying it wasn't working & they were on it. But still thought I'd try :) My 6 year-old just got vaccinated today I think I'll show him the video, it's great
I have a very strong immune system. But imma be honest, vaccines help boost your immune system by allowing your body to recognize and respond to a specific virus faster than trying to figure out what the hell theyβre looking at and how to respond first.
Thank you for posting this amusing video. I checked to see if I was up on all my vaccines recently. I think itβs a good idea to check because we donβt know if insurance companies will cover vaccines during the Trump administration the way things are going.
The local health care I use has started insisting that we wear masks again (I never stopped.) I am glad they did, but I canβt help but wonder Why. Bird flu? RSV? The usual flus? Where are you going now for information?
Likely for everything as theyβre a really good tool to use for protection, especially when circulating viruses are high. Also, I have been making sure to follow WHO for a lot of updates, and just news where I can.
Uh oh, the US doesnβt seem to be reporting to WHO anymore. The CDC was taken offline in January. I get so stressed out by this, so I quit reading in the middle.

Been working on getting all my vaccines updated or added π
Vaccine goes in hands out lead paint and asbestos out to all the cells to cause neurological alterations
Minus some the obscenities, as I was 3 years old π
Oh.
I mask at work regardless, but especially right now, as there's a very high chance I'm a carrier.
This is a fantastic video, thanks for sharing. π
Such a good animation with a good message.

Thank you, vaccines.

Absolutely love this video
covid vaccines are a bit hard to get here where i live (england), they cost a fair bit of money if ur not old or in a protected group TwT
Is there a way I can download it?
Must be the desktop version?
From my understanding mRNA vaccines brute force protein production for antibodies which is a more direct and invasive method.
im so greatful for modern medicine advancements :3
