In Mississippi, we have a joint with Chicago style pizza that I’ve had folks from Chicago say is better than most in the city, ditto for New York, but we don’t have anywhere that really prides itself on Detroit style that I know of.
Still to this day the best slice of true NY style pizza I've ever had was in Blanco Texas from a guy who worked in NYC for like 30 years and then moved to the Hill Country.
Putting the sauce on top of the cheese was an interesting choice. It’s good. Needs just the right combination of spices in the sauce though, to truly be unique. Deep-dish has its own charm, too — really enjoyable. I’m going to need to visit Manhattan for a slice, to gauge the competition.

Hell, I even like frozen pizza!
Loui's Pizza in Hazel Park is top of the mountain.
This makes New Yorkers very mad when I say it.
