I mean totally irrelevant to the issue at hand buuuut... If the stores want to offload some over ripe bananas for free I can make some BIG ASS pots of suafa'i and give it to all my friends. Maybe sell some too on the side of the road.
The idea that journalism can be unbiased is an illusion. In the case of this story, NPR is taking a side against striking workers by framing the strike in terms of how it hurts consumers.
Good. If we can't have this shit without hurting workers we don't deserve it at all. Take our toys away, that's the only way to make the public care or even notice.
Oh no if only there were some kind of very cold long-term storage solution for bananas that would later still have other profitable/enjoyable uses. No, better to leverage minor inconveniences to continue grinding workers beneath our feet like some kind of soft, slippery-peel-having fruit.
