I dunno. Feels like we've seen that story before. I wouldn't mind a movie where Superman just goes around saving people and beating up supervillains for once. No existential crisis. Just See Selfish Bigoted Billionaire, Punch Selfish Bigoted Billionaire to the Moon. Movie or IRL, either way...
THANK YOU for understanding this character and his history. Bringing Krypto in and seeing the amazing art direction clearly inspired by classic Superman comics and the Christopher Reeve films.. you clearly get it man. I never really go anymore but my butt will be in a theater opening day for this!
I have Goosebumps watching the new Trailer. Perfect Superman, Perfect Lois, Perfect Krypto. Superman can be hurt and he needs help from others. He didn't save a kitten in the trailer but he saved a little girl that is the real Superman, he cares about people. I liked Guy Gardener's punch me face...
Loved the teaser, loved the updated version of the John Williams theme, and absolutely adored Krypto. Tyler Hoechlin turned in the best Superman ever, and I’m hoping that this new version is just as good in his own way.
I was partially trolling, but I genuinely do not find Superman to be interesting in nearly any format. I enjoyed Smallville back in the day. Otherwise, no version of that character has ever been interesting to me.
Wait, are you saying Superman *isn't* an aloof alien entity that looks down upon all humanity from an impossible remove, whilst at the same time being portrayed as some kind of bizarre Christ figure?
Pick another hero or villain… leave classic films alone…. A better idea is an anthology series for the small screen using veteran and aspiring directors like @harrisonsmith85.bsky.social for another DC comics classic ….
We looking up like your tag line for the movie said James thank you for putting all your hard work into bringing us entertaining characters and storytelling worthy of them.
Cannot wait. Been a comic book reader and Superman fan from a very young age. The short preview dropped today has me hyped! Thank you so much for pouring your passion and energy into this @jamesgunn.bsky.social
People are already running away with that comment you made about being miserable.
The movie is going to be great, man. Definitely for the greater good, suffering for that art. But we love what you do so thanks for doing that for us and for yourself.
Volunteering at my daughter's kindergarten holiday party tomorrow morning, so please don't launch the trailer until I'm back at my desk. Thanks in advance.
@jamesgunn.bsky.social How much of your signature style is going to be in the Superman movie? I feel like most Superman movies typically clash with what you’ve made in the past.
Nothing to complain about GoTG1 is my favorite Marvel and superhero movie period.
One thing I’ll say for James is that he consistently nails the tone he’s going for. I get what you’re saying, but I’m confident he know that Superman isn’t Guardians or the Suicide Squad. I’m sure he’ll have a few solid gags, but am excited for a hopeful film here.

Super man.
2024 made me lose....most hope in humanity I had left.
(Cant wait for Batman 2.) 🤙
Not that anyone would ever do that...
I liked Cavill, but felt his world did not fit with what I remembered of Superman from my childhood. The lack of “hope” ruined it for me.
I had no real opinion on David Corenswet‘a casting until I saw him in Twisters.
That dude _exudes_ Superman/Clark vibes.
Mwah chef's kiss.

*had to fix a typo*
Boooo.
Can't wait to see Anthony as Metamorpho
NOWWWWWW!!!!!

He’s my favorite director next to Mike Flanagan and Denis Villanueve and all have their directions.
